Between 1800 and 1900 the day-to-day practice of medicine changed dramatically. As health care workers began to apply scientific knowledge to the diagnosis and treatment of disease, they revolutionized medical care and the medical profession.
This exhibition highlights major developments in health care in the 1800s, including the discovery of germs and innovations in surgical tools and medicines.
