ANOTHER CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENT
This card shows two well-known American actors, James Lewis and Mrs. G.W. Gilbert, as they appeared in the play "7-20-8". Tiny printing below the edge of Mrs. Gilbert's dress states that the card was made "By approval" of the actors - in other words, with their permission.
The card shows a scene that differs slightly from that viewed by theatre patrons. Lewis now holds a bottle of Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and a new line of dialogue created for the card extols the virtues of the product.
