SENIOR PROGRAMS
Bringing History to Life for Seniors
Museum of Health Care is proud to offer a new dedicated Seniors Program that brings engaging, hands-on activities and history experiences directly to older adults in our community.
Through this engaging outreach initiative, our museum team and educators travel to senior homes, community centres, and care facilities free of charge to deliver interactive programs that spark curiosity, conversation, and connection.
About Our Seniors Program
Our Seniors Program is a travelling outreach initiative designed to make history accessible, meaningful, and engaging for older adults. Developed by the Museum of Health Care, this program brings interactive presentations, real medical artifacts, and hands-on activities directly to senior homes, retirement residences, and community gathering spaces.
Each session explores fascinating themes from Canada’s medical past—such as early remedies, home care practices, hospital life, and the evolution of everyday health tools—while inviting participants to share their own memories and experiences. Programs are delivered by knowledgeable Museum staff who specialize in creating warm, inclusive, and stimulating environments.
Through meaningful social and cultural experiences, our program fosters connection, sparks conversation, and celebrates the lived experiences of participants through shared storytelling and historical exploration.
